Designer Jewelry by Ronaldo

Something new that we have been selling like crazy are designer bracelets by Ronaldo---this Louisville, KY, based jewelry designer uses artisan wire in gold or platinum and adds tiny gold or platinum beads or freshwater pearls.  The best-seller for us so far has been the "wide" prayer bracelet---it has 7 beads, one for each day of the week, to remind us of the "Power of Prayer". It's $62. There's also the original "Power of Prayer" bracelet (shown above) that's a little thinner and daintier and it sells for $50.  The "Waverley" (has 3 freshwater pearls) was designed for one of his customer's daughters from Mississippi who has spina bifida---a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this design goes to Spina Bifida research ($62).  And there's the "Pearl of my Heart"---with a single pearl ($54).  Ronaldo says this is a perfect gift for a daughter that's going off to college or a new mother! We've been amazed at how these things have moved----come by and see them today!

Kademi named "Small Business of the Year" by the Community Development Partnership

We are excited to announce that Kademi has been selected as the CDP's 2010 Small Business of the Year!  We are humbled and honored and appreciative! We would like to thank the Academy....just kidding!  Kim and I have just always wanted to win an Oscar and think this is about as close as we're ever going to get!  In all seriousness, we would like to thank the CDP and the selection committee.  We would also like to thank our loyal customers, our employees, our families and friends, our local bank, and our community for the loyal support we have received in our 18 years of Kademi, with 15 of those years having a brick and mortar location in downtown Philadelphia, MS!  We started as two best friends painting t-shirts and over the years Kademi has evolved into a full-fledged gift shop, but our roots are still strong----we still design and sell our t-shirts and we're still best friends!  And that, above all, is what we are most grateful for! 

Dog Days of Summer are almost over!

Webster defines “dog days” as...

1 : the period between early July and early September when the hot sultry weather of summer usually occurs in the northern hemisphere

2 : a period of stagnation or inactivity

Well, #1 is absolutely true! But, we, at Kademi, would have to argue with #2!  We have been busy, busy with a hopping bridal season----thanks to all our brides and their families and friends!  We've also been busy with our End-of-Summer Sale, which is still going on until the end of August---50% off selected jewelry plus 3 displays full of various stuff and 25% off summer scarves and purses! One of our favorite things we've actually carried for awhile, but will be great for the upcoming cooler weather when we all want to cook some good comfort food----Hen House Linens casserole pot holders---they're larger than normal ones so you can grab the entire casserole dish and then put it underneath as a hot pad.  Ingenious!  We got the chance to meet the 2 best friends who started Hen House this past July in Atlanta...we even like the line better!  They were so cute and fun and showed us some great ideas for Fall entertaining and hostess gifts----we will have their Fall line mid-Sept! We also just received Volume 2 of The Gathering of Friends cookbook----a self-published montage of delicious recipes with photos of each finished so you know what it's supposed to look like when you do it!

I can't even express how great the jewelry is that we've just put out!  You MUST come see!  We've just gotten Liz Henry...yay! And the other lines we've gotten---a few new ones---cute, affordable, perfect way to update your wardrobe for the Fall!

The flea market at the Fair is held on Saturday and this will be Kademi's 19th appearance!  Our first Fair design was not our very first t-shirt design, but it was the first time we printed more than 24 shirts----I think the first year we printed 48!  We no longer hand paint every one, but we have tried to remain true to our "look", and we appreciate all our loyal customers over the years!
